The Salt March was a protest against the tax on salt implemented by the British.
Gandhi walked from Sabarmati, Ashram to Dandi, Gujarato get salt (240miles)
Thousands of people followed him on this march.
The march lasted from March 12 to April 6 1930
The outcome of the march was that it drew more support for the independence movement across India and the World.
Gandhi was arrested and put in prison following this event.
