India and Pakistan (Bangladesh)
Quote: "Facts are facts and will not disappear on the account of your likes" - Nehru
The division of India separated millions of Muslims.
The state of Pakistan (east and west) formed on either side of the Indian sub-continent.
East Pakistan eventually became Bangladesh.
Kashimir is still a disputed territory between Indian and Pakistan.
Summary: India is the Hindu and Sikh area of the former British colony and Pakistan and Bangladesh are the Muslim areas of the former British Colony. The area of Kashmir was not an agreed partition of the country and is therefore still a cause for tension to this day.

Question: Did the partition have to occur where so many Muslims ended up being separated?
